Final year making 100-games-in-5-years and final 21 games
Only a year remains in my 5 year challenge. With the recently featured Gamasutra and IndieGames articles about my goal, I feel a bit reinvigorated. With 21 games remaining, I’m not too far behind target and still feel like I can make it. Main obstacle in my way now is my final year in USC’s game design graduate program, where I will be spending the year designing and making one larger scale game. On a related note, I hope to post a weekly update about the challenge. I plan on publishing a Gamasutra piece soon about the challenge as well as releasing this game.

Today begins the first day of mandatory development time in Dundee Scotland for Dare to Be Digital. Largest difference between now and when I first arrived is that all of the Dare teams are now in town so our work space will be twice as busy. I’m here as part of Team Our Own Storm, working on Our Own Storm. We’ll be working on the game through August and showing it at Dare Protoplay early in August. It’s a bit of a triple dip as DIGRA conference overlaps Protoplay in both dates and location, and I’ll be on a panel at DIGRA and have a game (You Must be 18 or Older to Enter) being shown in DIGRA’s Blank Arcade. If all goes well, I should also have two other games shown at Protoplay (Temporality and You Must be 18 or Older to Enter).
